This explains what information is collected, how it's used, and how long it's kept, in connection with (a) the OmniDownload desktop application (the "App") and (b) the account and payment system that unlocks full-quality downloads ("Account Services").
The App runs entirely on your own computer. When you download media, that request goes directly from your device to the third-party site hosting the content — it never passes through Omnistream's servers. We do not collect:
The only thing the App reports to our servers is an anonymous count of full-quality downloads used, for enforcing the free-tier limit — with no detail about what was downloaded.
Account information: if you create an account, we collect your email address and a securely hashed password (never stored in readable form).
Anonymous device identifier and usage count: a random identifier per installation, used only to track free-tier usage and device limits — not linked to specific URLs or files.
Payment information: purchases are processed by Paystack. We receive confirmation of successful payment and a transaction reference — never your card details.
We do not collect: the content or URLs you download (see Section 2), advertising identifiers, or anything beyond what's described above.
Solely to create/authenticate your account, verify your email, determine full-quality access, process purchases, and diagnose technical problems. We do not sell or share your information for marketing purposes.
Paystack processes payments on our behalf. The platform you're downloading from sees a request from your own device directly — we have no visibility into that. Email delivery for verification is sent via [EMAIL PROVIDER].
Passwords are stored using salted, one-way hashing (scrypt) — we cannot recover or view your actual password, including for support purposes.
Standard server logs for Account Services are retained for [RETENTION PERIOD] for security purposes, then deleted or anonymized. Account records are retained for as long as the account exists.
Account Services does not use advertising or analytics cookies — only what's technically necessary (e.g. staying signed in).
You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your account information by contacting [CONTACT EMAIL]. Deleting your account removes your email and password hash; it cannot affect anything on your own device, since we never had access to that.
The Service is not directed at children under [13/16], and we do not knowingly collect account information from children under that age.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, reflected by an updated "Last updated" date.
